We are delighted to bring you our latest project:

Gloagburn – Recipes from a Scottish Farm.

This is a project that Alison and our team have been working on for some time, and we’re so pleased to finally share the finished product with you!

This cookbook is a collection of our favourite family recipes, passed down through generations — foods made to be enjoyed on the go during busy days on the farm, as well as the most popular dishes from our coffee shop and bakery. It is a celebration of simple, honest & delicious food, that truly captures the spirit of Gloagburn today.

The Niven’s have farmed the land at Gloagburn for over 100 years, and in that time, the family business has grown and diversified to keep up with the ever changing agricultural landscape. Today, alongside the traditional farming practises of rearing cattle and growing crops such as barley and oats, the farm is now home to a thriving free-range egg enterprise and a renowned cafe, deli and butchery. At the heart of everything, is Alison Niven’s farmhouse kitchen - feeding the four generations of family that all still live locally today.

This book tells their story through classic, straightforward recipes, cooked straight from Alison’s Aga. Using simple ingredients produced on the farm including oats, eggs and beef — Alison shares her secrets for unfussy, delicious home cooking; from hearty one-pot stews & casseroles to the scones and tray-bakes that have made the coffee shop such a favourite with locals and visitors alike.
